i have decided to start a category highlighting beauty products that i enjoy. feel free to add any nuggets of wisdom, all of us love to hear how we can make ourselves more beautiful, with the least amount of work possible.
right now, thanks to a digital perm from this past september, i have soft waves. i have searched high and low for something that keeps the frizz down, and the softness in. thanks to a "real simple" tip (a recommended magazine), I have discovered:
kiehl's creme with silk groom $17.50
this product is so easy to use. a small amount spread throughout damp hair, leaves a soft finish.
i literally spend a minute on my hair, no matter the occassion. it's the best.
kiehl's is really good about handing out samples...so try it out. that's how i got started. i think it's worth the $. they also have a straightening creme, i'm sure that's just as great for straight hair.

i love "real simple" mag!

Hey,
I use the GENERIC version of this stuff:

Less than $2.00 at Target.
$17.50...are you crazy?

i know, i was hesitant at the price. but after sampling it for a couple of weeks, i found that it was worth it.
the low maintenance is worth it.

Oooh!!!! I need this! I got a straight perm because the korean woman I went to, said that I needed it (I dont know why I listened to her). I sat there for 7 hours while the chemical burned up every stran of my hair. So now, I'm cotton head! I've been trying to grow out my WHOLE HEAD OF HAIR the past year...I think I may go RIGHT NOW and get some samples! Thanks SK

do you like your perm? i'm afraid to get one because the last time i had one i was 14. 1 minute getting ready sounds heavenly though...if i want soft waves using a curler, forget it - easily an hour added to the process.

t depends what type of hair you have. if it's really really thick, it might not take too well. i love it when i get the DIGITAL perm, not to be confused with your standard perm. i have stick straight hair, usually, so i only had the bottom half of my hair permed. since the time i've gotten it, i've had a several inches cut, so it's gone from a curl to more of a wave.
nonetheless, yes, i recommend it. try it, if you don't like it, straighten it. :P
if you want low maintenance, get a digital perm for curls or a magic straight for straight. both don't require an electric socket in the mornings.

cool, thanks. i have very straight, soft, flat hair. my goal in life is to volumize it - the reason i use a blow dryer (and occasionally a curler). it will otherwise remain stuck to my head. i'll give the digital perm some thought.
